Helldivers 2 Bile Titans Location and How to Defeat Them

Helldivers 2 has its share of dangerous enemies ranging from Chargers to Hulk Automotons. However, the largest enemies in the game by far are the Bile Titans. These humongous arachnids part of the Terminids can easily wipe away a squad. They can pose an even bigger danger (literally) when you are getting attacked by other Terminids. If you play your cards just right, you can defeat a Bile Titan without requiring late-game weapons and stratagems.

What are Bile Titans in Helldivers 2?

Bile Titan in Helldivers 2

Bile Titan is the largest boss enemy in Helldivers 2 and is part of the Terminids faction. Bile Titans are huge building-size arachnids whose scythes are protected with strong armour. Unlike Chargers, Bile Titan’s belly is huge and up in the air, which makes for a large green target. Like other terminids, Bile Titans can be pretty fast, which can catch you off guard considering their size. The worst part is that they can be sneaky and surround you before you get a whiff of them.

Where to find Bile Titans in Helldivers 2?

Bile Titans start to appear from the Challenging difficulty as a main objective in which you have to kill a single Bile Titan. However, as you scale up the difficulty, you will have to face multiple bile titans simultaneously, and they won’t even be part of your objective. To come face to face with a Bile Titan, make sure to start a mission whose difficulty is at least Challenging and there is a Spider Icon under the Operation Status. You can also check and then join SOS beacons of fellow Helldivers if their mission description is related to finding and killing the Bile Titan.

How to kill Bile Titans?

First things first, don’t dive to your death by trying to rush and try to face the Bile Titan solo, that is if you haven’t faced the foe multiple times and also have starter gear. If you don’t want to just rely on the sheer luck and willpower of your squad, then you need to strategize your approach and also select the appropriate stratagems that are most effective against a Bile Titan. You’ll also need to know about the specific weaknesses of a Bile Titan, all of which we will explain. Note: Choose the primary weapon that lets you easily deal with the crowd of Terminids surrounding Bile Titan, like your starting Liberator rifle.

Best Stratagems to use against Bile Titan

Sure you can try just shooting at the Bile Titan with your primary weapons but that won’t do a ton of damage and there are chances of the titan wiping you and your squad out while you are constantly swapping mags hoping to do some damage. You need the help of some good stratagems to properly handle the Bile Titan. For weapon stratagems, there are three you can consider; Railgun, EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank, and the Recoilless Rifle.

Railgun deals armour-penetrating damage that if timed correctly can also stop horrendous breath attacks if you shoot at the mouth just before they are about to release it.

Expendable Anti-Tank is also a good choice however as the name suggests, it’s meant for one-time use only so you will need to make it count. It can easily pierce Bile Titan’s armour and deal a good amount of damage.

Recoilless Rifle can be great in these situations if you are playing with supportive teammates who can help you reload the gun while you blast at Bile Titan. The Rifle comes with a backpack containing ammo which is why it is preferred over the Anti-Tank Launcher.

For other stratagems, you need to focus on two things. First, Stratagems that can auto-aim at the Bile Titan and second, stratagems that can help clear the Terminids attacking you along with Bile Titan.

One of your teammates should be carrying sentries like autocannon or mortar as they can also help lure the Bile Titan towards them. Then you need attacks like the Eagle 110MM Rocket Pods that will automatically target the closest enemy and deal explosive damage.

Your squad should also be carrying stratagems like the Orbital Laser and the Orbital 380MM HE Barrage to deal great damage over large areas. Orbital Laser will constantly damage the Bile Titan as it moves along with the surrounding enemies. The Orbital Barrage will clear anything in its radius essentially eliminating the threat of the Terminids accompanying the Bile Titan.

Killing Bile Titan by its weak spot.

Tips to keep in mind when fighting the Bile Titan

  1. You need to always fight the Bile Titan at long range. You can’t fight this like other terminids that you can take advantage of by staying near them. Bile Titans attacks can easily kill you if you are close to them, wasting reinforcements.
  2. One of you needs to be brave enough and ignore the previous tip. While fighting the Bile Titan at short range is suicidal, baiting it and running is a good plan for you and your team. This will allow the rest of the team to use stratagems to directly damage the Bile Titan without having to worry about running away and getting the right angle to damage it.
  3. Bile Titan’s weak spot as is easily noticeable is its huge green belly. You need to target this with your attacks. However, Bile Titan’s hideous face is also a weak point that many players miss. If your stratagem hits its face directly, you could even one-shot the Bile Titan.
