While Modern Warfare 3 hit shelves in a matter of a year, Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch have some bugs to fix. Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 is off to a rough start. AAA games are less polished than they used to be. With rushed releases, we get some buggy weapons too, like the Tyr Conversion Kit in MW3. While some glitches in MW3 add an element of reward into the mix, that’s not the case with this one.
The Tyr is a secondary revolver that’s accurate and destructive and is one of the newer weapons added to the game. And it gets some special treatment with an awesome JAK Beholder Rifle Aftermarket Kit. Unfortunately, the Tyr Conversion Kit or JAK Beholder Rifle in MW3 is bugged and isn’t showing up for players.
UPDATE 1: Sledgehammer has scheduled a fix for the Tyr Conversion Aftermarket Kit, which is viewable on their Public Trello Board.
This means that players will soon be able to use the JAK Beholder Rifle Kit, provided they completed any of the 3 sets of required Week 3 Challenges in MW3 Season 1.
UPDATE 2: Sledgehammer has finally fixed the JAK Beholder Rifle/Tyr Conversion Kit not equipping bug in MW3. Players can now equip and use the Tyr Conversion Kit which transforms the TYR Revolver into a fully fledged Tyr Sniper Rifle.
The Official Modern Warfare 3 Subreddit and X (formerly Twitter) communities have consistently reported this issue to Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games. The Tyr Conversion Kit in MW3 requires players to complete at least five weekly challenges in either MW3’s Multiplayer, Zombies, or Battle Royale (Warzone) modes, and if you’re interested, here’s the definitive guide to unlock the JAK Beholder Rifle or Tyr Conversion Kit in MW3.
But after completing the required number of challenges–even completing all challenges for the JAK Beholder Rifle Kit, players are reporting that the Conversion Kit is not showing up. This is an issue that exists on all gaming platforms-whether it’s PC, Xbox Series X, or PS5.
Is There A Way to Equip The Tyr Conversion Kit or JAK Beholder Rifle?
No, you still can’t equip or use the Tyr Conversion Kit or Jak Beholder Rifle in MW3. It’s been more than a week since Sledgehammer addressed the issue. The aftermarket part still does not show up as of December 29, 2023.
Activision and Sledgehammer stated that they are investigating the issue, but when will MW3 players use the JAK Beholder Rifle that was intended to be unlocked in WEEK 3 Challenges of Modern Warfare 3 Season 1? Technically, you can unlock the JAK Beholder rifle but can’t use or equip it. That is, until Sledgehammer decides to fix it.
Things seem rocky from the get-go for Modern Warfare 3, and Sledgehammer and Activision are taking their time, celebrating holidays and prepping for the New Year. It seems we will have to wait a while before Activision and Sledgehammer finally fix the Aftermarket Conversion Kit Bug once and for all.
