Among the Automaton forces are the Scout Striders in Helldivers 2 who are easily distinguishable and can be spotted from a distance. This enemy type is generally available from the medium difficulty setting and will be fighting you in each mission you try to accomplish on the automaton’s side of the territory. Who are the Scout Striders in Helldivers 2?
Scout Striders are slower than their allies but they have a lot of firepower attached to them with the machine gun attached in front of the machines to make up for the slow speed. Scout Striders are tall in size and you will be able to easily spot them even without their name showing up. Scout Striders walk on two mechanical legs with a smaller bot controlling them from behind whom you need to kill instead of the robot. After taking some firepower, the robot pilot controlling them sometimes ditches the Scout Strider and jumps off.
Where can I find the Scout Striders?
Scout Striders can be found in all Medium and above missions on the Automaton territories on the left side of the map. While using higher difficulties will yield more enemies to fight, hence more Scout Striders you can beat, enemy types will be on the stronger side and this may make it hard for you to focus on killing Scout Striders.

How to kill the Scout Striders?
You can exploit Scout Strider’s slow speed by rushing them on their side and directly killing the bot controlling them. We recommend having a teammate play decoy and take fire from the Scout Strider while you can easily walk past the Scout Strider and target the unprotected bot controlling it. If you are solo then you can place a turret that directs fire at the Scout Strider and takes its attention while you can sneak up. Scout Strider’s armour is not easy to penetrate so do not waste time by randomly shooting at this enemy.
However, if you carefully notice then the head of the bot controlling them is always a bit visible. You can directly target it with either a Marksman Rifle or an Anti-Material Rifle provided you have enough distance from the enemy. You can also aim at the Scout Strider with your Assault Rifle and slowly move your aim upwards while shooting to get the head of the bot hiding. If you do not think that you can get its head then concentrate fire on the legs of the Scout Strider as they are more susceptible to damage than the rest of its body. If there are too many enemies and you do not have time to aim like this, then you can always rely on a stratagem like the Orbital Precision Strike or even your grenades which can get the job done for you.
