Avatar: The Last Airbender Game In The Works

As reported by Variety and Gematsu, Avatar: The Last Airbender Video game is in the making to go along the live-action genre as a Netflix show coming later this month.

Avatar has been one of the most beloved fan-favourite shows on Nickelodeon (Nick) for many years. The cartoon first aired from February 2005 to July 2008, gaining significant popularity and leading to reruns on television for many years and has gained a very devoted following from dedicated fans.

For the game, the reigns go to Paramount Games and Maximum Games as developers/creators. Reports indicate that it will be an online multiplayer game.

Maximum Games CEO Christina Seelye also shared a small statement regarding the news where she said the following words;

“We are thrilled to announced that we have entered into a partnership with Paramount Consumer Products to develop a competitive multiplayer fighting game set in Avatar: The Last Airbender universe,”.

It is uncertain whether it will include a story mode or not. This is just the initial stage of development. However, the company has announced that it will release somewhere in 2025. We still need to see the platforms they choose to release it on. The fans of the animated series will definitely want its release on all platforms.

Seelye further said,  “This competitive fighting game is set to release into early access in 2025. We are thrilled to be bringing this project to life, and we will have so much more to share on this game in the future.”

It is not the first time that the gaming world has seen The Last Airbender. As the show’s popularity grew, games began to emerge as well.

One of the recent games released under this name was Avatar: The Last Airbender Quest for Balance. Fans and gamers alike did not receive it well, as it garnered bad reviews and ratings across the spectrum. The game drew inspiration from Night Shyamalan‘s live-action adventure movie ‘The Last Airbender‘.
