Rocksteady Games’ new title, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, promised a lot when it was in the making and upon its release. The game is the follow-up to the amazing and fan-favorite The Arkham Series. However, despite a very solid backstory in the form of the Arkham series and the studio’s understanding of what works for the fans of the series for a long time. This game just falters on so many levels that it is almost impossible to point out what went right for the game.
We at EsportsNext, in our review of the game, had already pointed out so many glaring mistakes that leave a sour taste for the fans of the game and DC Comics as well. Please read our review to understand what went wrong in several aspects of the game.
One of the mistakes was the unnecessary attempt at trying to make the already established series into a live-service game, complete with dance moves—essentially turning the game into a Fortnite lookalike.
We also predicted in the review that the number of players returning to play the game, which was already very low, would decrease further, eventually making it difficult for the game to survive. It might follow the same path as Marvel’s Avengers, which faced server closures and ultimately met a dead end.
And the predictions are turning into reality already, as it’s just the end of the first month since the major bugs were fixed. Reports suggest that the number of gamers playing the game, according to Steam data, has dropped to even lower than 1000.
Things are not looking good at all for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, and they might not even have the time to bring any major seasonal updates, given the trajectory of the drop in the number of gamers playing the game.
Of course, the studio could always try to revive the game and attract gamers back, but with each passing day, this task seems to be getting tougher and tougher.
