This S-Tier Las-16 Sickle Loadout Is The New Helldivers 2 Meta

0

Want to know about the best Las-16 Sickle Loadout, changing the meta of Arrow Head’s squad-based Extraction Shooter?  Helldivers 2 has changed up quite a bit with the latest Cutting Edge War Bond update and the new balancing patch 1.00.102. Bile Titans and Chargers have a lower spawn rate, with +7 and Helldive Difficulty Missions. But that means you’ll have to deal with tons more Hunters and Bile Spewers. But with the release of the new Cutting Edge War Bond Update, the Las-16 Energy-Based AR is OP. With an edge over the Liberator and no reloading needed, this supposedly mid-tier weapon is going to be a focus on our new Helldivers 2 Meta Loadout. So, without further digressing. Let’s dive into the Las-16 Sickle S-Tier Loadout in Helldivers 2.

Where the Las-16 Sickle starts to really shine is in the Helldive Difficulty missions, where you’re now bound to be swarmed by mid-tier bugs like Hunters and Bile Spewers. If you don’t have the right setup, you’re bound to be pinned to the wall. There’s also been a huge spike in regard to Brood Commanders, Stalkers, and Warriors as well. But that’s where the Las-16 Sickle steps into the picture. While Bile Titans and Chargers have been nerfed, the game’s dynamic has seriously shifted to an alarming spawn rate of these light and medium-armored enemies.

Best Las-16 Sickle Loadout in Helldivers 2: Helldivers 2 New Meta Loadout

TR-7 Ambassador Of The Brand: Best Armor For Las-16 Sickle Loadout in Helldivers 2

TR-7 Ambassadaor of Brand - Helldivers 2 Meta Loadout

TR-7 Ambassador Of The Brand Stats

  • Armor Rating 150
  • Speed: 500
  • Stamina Regen: 100
  • Armor Passive: Extra Padding gives the player a Higher Armor Rating.

There are tons of Armor’s to choose from in Helldivers 2, now with the Cutting Edge update. While you’d be tempted to try out the new Armor sets, we’re going to stick to something that maintains a balance between Armor Rating, Stamina, Durability, and Speed.

That’s where the TR-7 Ambassador steps into the picture, giving you the best of both worlds. It’s a fine balance of speed, stamina regen, but with the buffed armor stats equivalent of Heavy Armor thanks to its Heavy Padding Armor Passive.

The Las-16 Sickle is capable of holding out on its own in a plethora of scenarios and Helldive difficulty missions. But to make things even easier, this premium war bond weapon, obtained via 20 medals, can be paired with some solid Stratagems to get the ultimate Helldivers 2 Meta Loadout.

Primary Weapon: Las-16 Sickle – Best Las 16-Sickle Loadout Helldivers 2

Las-16 Sickle Stats

  • Weapon Type: Energy Based
  • Damage: 55
  • Fire Limit: 009
  • Recoil: 002
  • Fire Rate: 750
  • Passives: Heat, Light Armor Penetrating

The Las-16 Sickle is an energy-based weapon similar to the Las-5 Scythe but with a bit of a twist. Although it packs the same energy-based heat sinks, preventing you from having to reload again and again, it spits out rounds or energy pulses and acts like a much better version of the Liberator. It has a high rate of fire and minimal recoil. The only downside is the annoying spinning reticle, which makes focusing on enemies a bit tedious.

The Las-16 Sickle can be obtained by first unlocking the Cutting Edge War Bond for 1000 Super Credits. On the first page of the Cutting Edge War Bond, you’ll spot the Las-16 Sickle, which can be obtained for just 20 medals.

While the Stats of the Sickle in Helldivers 2 don’t seem all that impressive, we had a different experience with it in combat. In combat scenarios against light to medium-armored enemies, the Sickle managed to tear through enemies in seconds. That’s owing to the really high fire rate and minimal recoil, meaning there’s no compensation needed to control this beast.

While there’s a little delay before the gun starts spewing energy beams, the Las-16 Sickle is pretty easy to get accustomed to, much like the Liberator, which is the first weapon you unlock in the game.

You can also adjust the zoom options of the Sickle’s scope by holding down the reload button to 25m, 50m, or 100m. Play around with the different zoom levels, but ideally, we recommend you stick with the 50m zoom scope. In combat, the Sickle holds up incredibly well as you’re able to tear through swarms of light-armored enemies effortlessly, but there’s a bit of difficulty taking down the more tankier medium to heavily-armored enemies in Helldivers 2.

Considering there’s a bump in the number of Hunters, Warriors, and Scavengers at higher difficulties in Helldivers 2 now, the Sickle manages to churn through these Terminid enemies like butter. But you might just fry a heat sink going ham, and that’s where you’ll have to switch to your secondary weapon, the P-19 Redeemer.

Secondary Weapon: P-19 Redeemer – Best Las-16 Sickle Loadout Helldivers 2

P-19 Redeemer Stats

  • Weapon Type: Pistol
  • Damage: 60
  • Capacity: 31
  • Recoil: 11
  • Fire Rate: 1100
  • Weapon Traits: Light Armor Penetrating, One-handed

Much like the Las-16 Sickle, the P-19 Redeemer also boasts a handsome rate of fire, but with the limited number of rounds, you’re sure to run short when you’re in a hitch, especially when you’re reloading. So, to compensate for this, use the P-19 Redeemer in Semi Auto mode.

The P-19 Redeemer is available in the Standard War bonds as you flip to Page 2. It’s only worth 5 Medals. Despite its modest cost, it’s by far, one of the most OP secondary weapons in Helldivers 2. It has a high rate of fire and a higher damage output than the Liberator or the Sickle, but the high fire rate just makes you run out of ammo pretty soon.

It’s especially effective at clearing out the smaller bugs, in addition to Scavengers and weaker enemies. So, the effective strat is to churn through light-armored enemies with the Las-16 Sickle and as it reaches its heat-sink frying point, switch to the P-19 Redeemer to keep yourself going ham in the heat of battle. Then switch back to the Las-16 Sickle when it cools down, and you’re good to go!

Helldivers 2 Best Las-16 Sickle Loadout: Best Stratagems

Paired with the right Stratagems, the Las-16 Sickle can also devastate medium-armored enemies like Hunters and Walkers with ease, paired with the right Stratagems. Before moving to the bigger and better Stratagems to pair with the Las-16 Sickle. Let’s take a look at your first Stratagem Pick.

Stratagem 1: Guard Dog Rover – AX/LAS-5 Guard Dog Rover – Best Support Stratagem

Guard Dog Rover Stats

  • Stratagem Category: Engineering Bay
  • Unlock Level: Level 10
  • Cost: 7500 Requisition Slips
  • Call-in-Time: 5 seconds
  • Number of Uses: Unlimited
  • Cooldown: 480 seconds
  • Traits: Hellpod, Backpack
  • Stratagem Code: Down, Up, Left, Up, Right, Right

The Guard Dog Rover is basically a flying Support or Supply Stratagem that aids you in the heat of battle. It unlocks at Level 10 and requires 7500 Requisition Slips to unlock. While this seems a bit too high, it works with the Las-16 Sickle, like bark on a tree.

The Sickle paired with the Guard Dog Rover is capable of churning through swarms of Hunter, Medium-Armored Bugs, and Automatons without breaking a sweat. The Rover is always by your side, ready to beam any enemy in its tracks.

The only downside is that it might do some friendly-fire damage to you or your teammates if you get cross in its sight lines. While the Guard Dog Rover might not be the best Supply or Support Stratagem out there, it makes sense to use it with the Las-16 Sickle. Therefore, they make the perfect duo in the Las-16 Sickle Meta Loadout in Helldivers 2.

Stratagem 2: EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank – Best Supply Stratagem

EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank Stats

  • Stratagem Category: Patriotic Administration Center
  • Unlock Level: Level 3
  • Stratagem Type: Supply Stratagem
  • Cost: 3000 Requisition Slips
  • Call-in Time: 2 Seconds
  • Number of Uses: Unlimited
  • Cooldown: 70 seconds
  • Traits: Support Weapon, Hellpod, Explosive

The Expendable Anti-Tank or the Eat-17 is one of the best offensive support Stratagems currently in Helldivers 2. While the Las-16 Sickle won’t do much damage to these enemies. That’s where the EAT-17 comes into play. You can unlock the Expendable Anti-Tank or EAT-17 in Helldivers 2 for 3000 Requisition Slips after reaching Level 3 which is accessible in the Patriotic Administration Section of the Stratagem Options.

Direct hit of EAT-17 Expendable Anti Tank Supply Stratagem Decimates a Bile Titan in one hit.

With the recent update, the Chargers have been significantly nerfed not only in terms of their spawn rate but also in terms of the health of their head. So a single shot to a Charger’s head from the Expendable Anti-Tank or EAT-17 in Helldivers 2 can one-shot Chargers, raising its viability in Helldivers 2 post-patch.

Stratagem 3: Orbital Rail Cannon Airstrike – Best Offensive Stratagem

Orbital Rail Cannon Airstrike Stats

  • Stratagem Category: Orbital Cannons
  • Stratagem Type: Offensive
  • Cost: 10,000 Requisition Slips
  • Unlock Level: Level 20
  • Call-in Time: 1 Second
  • Cooldown: 210 seconds
  • Stratagem Code: Right, Up, Down, Down, Right

Of course, how could we forget the Orbital Rail Cannon Airstrike in Helldivers 2? While it takes a while to unlock at Level 20, it’s pretty much worth it. The Orbital Rail cannon airstrike is capable of taking out the largest enemy in the vicinity or the biggest threat with an orbital laser or rail cannon, killing Bile Titans in just 1 or 2 hits. The Orbital Rail cannon is your go-to Stratagem to take out Bile Titans without breaking a sweat.

The Orbital Rail cannon requires you to go through a bit of a grind to get, but veterans of the game that have made it to the Cutting Edge War Bond update might have already unlocked it at level 20 for around 10,000 Requisition Slips. If you’re still hesitant to try it out, don’t be. It’s one of the best Orbital Cannon Stratagems in Helldivers 2. And it’s pretty much your go-to Stratagem at Helldive Difficulty Missions.

Stratagem 4: Eagle Airstrike and Eagle Rearm – Best Offensive Eagle Stratagem

Eagle Airstrike and Eagle Rearm Stats

  • Stratagem Category: Hangar
  • Eagle Airstrike Stratagem Code: Up, Right, Down, Right
  • Eagle Rearm Stratagem Code: Up, Up, Left, Up, Right
  • Stratagem Type: Offensive
  • Unlock Level: 2
  • Cost: 4000 Requisition Slips
  • Call-In Time: None
  • Number of Uses: 2
  • Cooldown: 15 Seconds
  • Stratagem Traits: Explosive, Eagle

A Bile Titan’s Worst Nightmare. If the Las-16 Sickle doesn’t cut it, then an Eagle Airstrike will pretty much blow Chargers and Bile Titans to smithereens. Even after the latest update, the Eagle Airstrike is still one of the best S-Tier Offensive Stratagems in Helldivers 2. The Eagle Airstrike is pretty easy to unlock. You unlock it pretty early in the game at Level 2 for around 4000 Requisition Slips. The call-in time is pretty much instantaneous, zero to be precise.

The Eagle Airstrike is great for every scenario you can think of. If you’re thinking of clearing out an Automaton Base, clearing a chokehold, and obliterating a bug nest, along with taking out those ridiculously large Bile Titans, then this Stratagem should be a part of your new Helldivers 2 loadout. To make matters better, you also get 3 Charges to rearm yourself. But we’re not stopping here. To make the Eagle Airstrike even deadlier than it already is, we’re going to look at some ship modules.

Best Ship Modules For Eagle AirStrike – Best Las-16 Sickle Loadout

Helldivers 2 Best Ship Modules

Ship Module 1: Liquid Ventilated Cockpit Ship Module

Liquid Ventilated Cockpit Ship Module Stats

  • Category: Hangar
  • Cost: 80 Samples
  • Effect: Reduces Eagle Airstrike Cooldown Time by 50 Percent

Ship Modules can change the way your Stratagems operate and in the case of the Eagle Airstrike, you’ll have to scroll down to the Hangar section and unlock the Liquid-Ventilated Cockpit under Ship Management and Ship Modules. To Unlock the Liquid-Ventilated Cockpit Ship Module, you need 80 Common Samples. But why would you require a Ship Module in the first place. Let me tell you why.

The Liquid-Ventilated Cockpit Ship Module slashes the cool-down time of your Eagle Airstrike Stratagem in Half. That means you can call in a successive Eagle Airstrike in 7 seconds, in contrast to the normal 15-second cool-down time.

Ship Module 2: Pit Crew Hazard Pay Ship Module

Pit Crew Hazard Pay Ship Module Stats

  • Category: Hangar
  • Cost: Liquid Ventilated Cockpit + 40 Rare Samples
  • Effect: Reduces Eagle Rearm Time by 20 Percent

When you normally use an Eagle Stratagem, you’re given an extra Stratagem known as Eagle Rearm, which allows you to rearm your Eagle Airstrike 3 times for around a whopping 6 Eagle Airstrikes.

But the wait period for each Eagle Rearm is a bit long, considering you’ll be in the midst of a heated battle. You’ll have to wait 2 minutes and 30 Seconds for the Eagle Rearm. That’s where the Pit Crew Hazard Pay Ship Module comes into the picture, reducing the Eagle Rearm Time down to 20 Percent. To unlock the Pit Crew Hazard Pay Ship Module, you first need to unlock the Liquid Ventilated Cockpit and spend 40 Rare Samples.

Ship Module 3: Expanded Weapons Bay Ship Module

Expanded Weapons Bay Ship Module Stats

  • Category: Hangar
  • Cost: Pit Crew Hazard Pay Ship Module + 80 Common Samples + 80 Rare Samples + 10 Super Samples
  • Effect: Increases the number of Eagle Airstrike uses by one per Eagle Rearm

Last but not least is the Expanded Weapons Bay. Bile Titans, Chargers, Hulks, and any heavily armored enemy won’t stand a chance anymore. With the Expanded Weapons Bay Ship Module, you’ll get another Eagle Stratagem Use per Eagle Rearm.

What more could you ask for? But getting this Ship Module won’t be all that easy, as you’ll have to do some sample farming. In addition to unlocking the Pit Crew Hazard Pay Ship Module, you need to spend 80 Common Samples, 80 Rare Samples, and 10 Super Samples to unlock the Expanded Weapons Bay Ship Module.

Best Las-16 Sickle Loadout in Helldivers – Conclusion

That pretty much wraps up the Best Las-16 Sickle Loadout in Helldivers 2 which is basically the new Meta in the game. The Las-16 Sickle, paired with the right secondary weapon and the right Stratagems, can allow you to breeze through Helldive difficulty missions. With decent damage, minimal recoil, and a new balance patch that’s decreased the spawn rate of Chargers and Bile Titans, while also nerfing the health of Chargers, the Las-16 Sickle Loadout is OP and is the new Meta Weapon of Helldivers 2.
