In recent updates within the gaming industry, a new gaming studio has emerged named EmptyVessel, founded by former employees and developers from several top-tier gaming studios such as Naughty Dog, Id Studios, and Activision.

Emptyvessel, as reported, is looking to focus more on the quality of the games rather than focusing too much on the financial aspect of things. This was emphasized by the General Manager of the newly formed studio, Garret Young, who has worked and held key positions in Id Studios, Activision, Microsoft, and Walt Disney, with a collected experience of 25 years. He reportedly said, “Our industry is at a crossroads between business and talent. At Empty Vessel, we take a developer-first approach to our direction and execution.”

EmptyVessel Studio’s CEO and Game Director Emanuel Palalic also weighed in on what they hope to achieve and do with this new venture of theirs, stating that their team “aims to break from the traditional business models and work together towards a common vision of a future powered by people and creativity, where the industry is moved forward by teams of great game makers.” He continued, saying, “Many game developers like myself began our journey fueled by the dream of one day bringing our worlds to life. By prioritizing and aligning with our strengths, we’re confident it’s possible to create AAA-quality games with smaller, focused teams. The industry has often overlooked the people who pour their hearts and souls into crafting these worlds. With EmptyVessel, we’re determined to change that narrative and make that dream a reality for as many developers as we can.”

It could be understood from Palalic’s statements that EmptyVessel will strive to create games that align with the aspirations and dreams of former employees and developers from several prominent studios and companies. Undoubtedly, amidst reported layoffs, the diligent employees and developers in these studios may have felt neglected and undervalued.

However, it is essential to analyze the feasibility of EmptyVessel’s endeavors in these challenging times within the gaming industry, even for established companies. It will be crucial to observe how they navigate the financial pressures that nearly every gaming company is experiencing. Unfortunately, these pressures have led to numerous layoffs and downsizing across the industry.

Reportedly, one major step they are taking from the outset is having their staff work remotely. This proactive approach is certainly a step in the right direction, saving costs for both the company and its employees.

For now, they appear to be moving in the right direction as they have already announced that they are working on their debut game, reported to be an AAA sci-fi shooter. Keep tuning in to EsportsNext for new updates regarding this promising gaming studio and its games.
