Over at the Costa Del Sol Resort of the enriched Mako-infused slums of Nibelheim, you’ll have to make your way to Johnny to access the Quest: The Saga of the Seaside Inn. The first part of the quest requires you to make your way to all the NC Ziplines found around Costa Del Sol and collect some materials for Johnny and his clones. Afterward, you’ll have to find the Boiler Valve Transmuter Chip, complete the Golden Saucer Adventure to get the Tiny Bronco, and also get the Safety Bit to avoid Instant Death when facing the Tonberry King. The Tonberry King is powerful and has a one-hit melee. Use ranged attacks, Level 2 and Level 3 Spells, and fill his ATB Guage till he’s pressured to make him the Pristine Tonberry Crown.

How To Find Tonberry King Location and Steal The Pristine Tonberry King Crown in FF7 Rebirth – Summarized
To locate the Tonberry King’s location in FF7 Rebirth:
- Start the Saga of the Seaside Inn Quest by talking to Johnny.
- Collect all the materials needed by going to the NC Ziplines Locations as marked on the map. Hand them over to Johnny.
- Head over to the Valve Factory Ruins and unearth the Boiler Valve Transmuter Chip. Craft the Boiler Valve and you’re ready for the next step.
- Make sure you’ve completed the Golden Saucer Adventure to gain access to the Tiny Bronco to get past the waters to proceed to the Tonberry King’s location.

Call for friends spawns small Tonberries which can also insta-kill you with Chef’s Knife so make sure to kill them first. - Use a mix of Firaga, Blizzara, and Thundara to slow down the Tonberry King and after he uses Doom and Gloom, use Synergy Abilities to fill up his ATB gauge and stagger him.
To Steal The Pristine Tonberry Crown:
- Pressure the Tonberry King by evading all of his attacks and getting some hits in. The more attacks you evade and follow up with ranged attacks, the faster the Tonberry King will be pressurized.
- When the Tonberry King finally drops his crown, use the steal ability on the crown to get the Pristine Tonberry Crown in FF7 Rebirth.
- Now, kill the Tonberry Crown to end the battle.

Step 1: Locate All NC Ziplines Locations in FF7 Rebirth
You can easily find all the materials in FF7 Rebirth’s The Saga of The Seaside Inn Quest by opening up the map and finding all the NC ziplines. Conveniently, all the NC ziplines are already marked on the map so there’s not much scavenging needed to be done. But the only caveat here is that you have to collect materials over at 8 NC Ziplines. Using your Chocobo mount, head to the marked location just inside of the Factory ruins, and right next to some pillars and a blue tarp, you’ll unearth the boiler valve transmuter chip. Now you need to unearth the remaining two transmuter chips.

After you get your hands on the boiler valve transmuter chip or the plans to craft the boiler valve, you need some resources to craft it, which consist of Zinc Ore, Iron Ore, and Amethyst. You can easily find these resources by finding them scattered across the Resort and picking them off the ground. Step 3: How To Get To The Tonberry King Location in FF7 Rebirth?
To get to the Tonberry King Location in FF7 Rebirth, you need to complete the Golden Saucer Adventure and everything there is to do to unlock the Tiny Bronco. And this is where most players get stuck. You’re now tasked to get to the Tonberry king and steal the Tonberry Crown but there’s no way to make your way past the waters until you complete some other missions.
To get to the Tonberry King and Steal his crown, you first need to head over to the Golden Saucer and complete an entire Adventure. To cross the lake or waters in front of Johnny, you need to complete everything there is to do over at the Gold Saucer, which unlocks the Tiny Bronco. The Tiny Bronco will allow you to cross the waters in front of you, and make your way to the Tonberry King’s location.
Step 4: Discover Area of Interest: Rockspout Lifespring and Talk to Chadley
Before you make your way to the Tonberry King location in FF7 Rebirth and steal the Pristine Tonberry Crown, you need to discover another Area of Interest known as the Rockspout Lifespring. After you discover the Rockspout Lifespring, Chadley will give you details on the Location of the Tonberry King as it’s Classified Intel. And with that said, you’ve uncovered the location of the Tonberry King. It’s time to defeat him and steal the Tonberry Crown.
Step 5: How To Defeat The Tonberry King – How To Get The Pristine Tonberry Crown
The Tonberry King is a powerful boss in FF7 Rebirth and he can insta-kill you with his melee attacks if you’re not careful. Furthermore, the Tonberry King will also spawn smaller Tonberry’s which can also insta-kill you with their Chef’s Knife Ability. So, you need to be prepared to defeat the Tonberry King.
How To Get The Safety Bit – Safety Bit Location in FF7 Rebirth
That’s where the Safety Bit comes in handy. The Safety Bit is an item that grants you immunity to Instant Death, Stone, and Petrify. To get the Safety Bit in FF7 Rebirth, you need to be in control of Yuffie at the Ground Level of the Coal Mines at the Mining Railway – Mountain Tracks.
If you forgot to collect the Safety Bit, you can still retrace your steps and head back to this location.
Climb the ladder near the railway tracks and right in front of you, you’ll find a small steel shack. Inside, you’ll find a chest containing the safety Bit. But if you skip this step, the Tonberry King Bossfight is going to put you on your knees.

To defeat the Tonberry King, you should focus on going for a ranged build for your characters. Max Level Materia does help a ton but don’t rely on them too much. Make sure to switch between characters after each consecutive hit to the Tonberry King. You’ll have to rely on magic such as Blizzaga and Firaga from a distance to avoid getting wiped out by his attacks.
So, to get the Pristine Crown, you have to pressure the Tonberry King to drop it during the fight. To pressure the Tonberry King in FF7 Rebirth, dodge or evade his attacks, and follow up with ranged shots from a Ranged Cloud Build, Barrett, and Yuffie.
Firaga and Blizzaga are good enough to slow him down in his tracks to get some consecutive hits in. Keep spamming Cloud’s Ranged Attacks to max out his ATB gauge to stagger him. Synergy Attacks should be used after the Tonberry King uses Doom and Gloom.
Tonberry King Abilities
- The Tonberry King will start off the fight with an ability known as Royal Treatment which will slow down your team members.
- Using Doom and Gloom, the Tonberry King casts a purple spell that tracks you, but it’s pretty slow, so you can easily dodge it.
- Rancor is a stun attack that stuns you long enough for the Tonberry King to melee you but you need to be within Melee distance for him to get a hit in.
- Make sure to stay out of Melee range as much as you can because the Tonberry King can use Bone Deep Grudge to freeze you in your tracks and finish you off with a follow-up attack. But Bone Deep Grudge has a slow start-up which can be evaded.
- The Tonberry King can also one-shot your teammates using Well-Honed Knife, but again, the Tonberry King needs to be in Melee Range to perform this attack.
- The Tonberry King may also use another ability called “Call for friends”. This ability allows him to spawn multiple mini Tonberries which can also insta-kill you with their ability known as Chef’s Knife. Again, you need to be in melee range for them to kill you. After the attack prompt goes off, evade or dodge the attack and follow up with a level 2 spell like Thundara or Blizzara.
- The Tonberry King will also use an ability called Hopping Mad which spawns pots and pans from the sky. While they won’t inflict enough damage, they will stun you long enough for a mini Tonberry or the Tonberry King to kill you. So make sure to dodge as much as you can.
How To Steal The Tonberry King’s Pristine Crown – How To Get The Pristine Tonberry Crown in FF7 Rebirth
Now that you know all the abilities Tonberry King has up his sleeves, it’s time to steal his crown. You could defeat the Tonberry King normally and get a regular crown where Yuffie states that the team could’ve gotten a better one.
When the Tonberry King finally drops his crown mid-fight after being pressured via dodging his attacks and countering, focus or cycle your reticle to the Tonberry Crown and Steal it. Make sure the steal ability is equipped on one or two of your teammates.
