0

The news comes of the brand new year for Pokemon GO and so far, alongside the Pokemon GO Community Day which will be bringing the Alolan Starter Rowlet, players have also received news of the brand new festive event of 2024 starting on the first day of the new year. The New Year 2024 event brings a variety of Pokemon in costumes, some seem before and some brand new as well as many new rewards, bonuses and more.

The event will run from January 1st at 10 AM and will last for 3 days till the 3rd at 8 PM local time. The New Year will start with a celebratory ingame look, some nifty bonuses and tons of spawns and lots of colourful costumes and outfits.

The Newest New Year Faces and Costumes:

For the newest costume designs in the game, Jigglypuff will arrive wearing a Ribbon that will also be wearable by its evolution Wigglytuff to match both their cute looks and fairy-type match-ups. They’ll also be having their shiny forms available so players might get lucky and encounter a different coloured one if they opt to play the first three days of the new year.

World Spawns

This is not all however as Hoothoot wearing a New Year’s outfit will also be available as a normal spawn. Darumaka and Bronzor will also be available as added spawns with Bronzor being the rarer one, but both of these will be in their simple looks without any getup.

Raids:

The Kanto Starter trio Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander as well as Wurmple, Raticate, Nidorino, Gengar and Wobbofet all wearing party hats will also be available in raids. Aside from these costume Pokemon, here is the full list of what raids will look like in the first three days of the New Year:

  • 1 Star Raids will have the Kanto Starter trio with party hats and Hoothoot and Wurmple in their new costumes.
  • 3 Star Raids will have Raticate, Nidorino, Gengar and Wubbuffet in Party hats.
  • 5 Star Raids will bring some Alolan Ultra Beasts according to the local regions, Buzzwole coming to the Americas, Xurkitree coming to the Asia-Pacific and Phermosa coming to Europe. Players would be able to use remote raids passes so time for those long-distance friends to help each other out.
  • Mega Raids will feature Mega Ampharos

Aside from the 5 Star Ultra Beasts, all the costume Pokemon and Mega Ampharos will have their shiny forms available so players can look to hunt for those if they want to commemorate their New Year Pokemon GO gameplay with some exclusive-looking Pokemon.

Bonuses:

The extra help this time around will be to Incubators and eggs as all eggs will have their incubation time cut by half if they are placed in Incubators during the event. Moreover, there will also be a special way to get a 1/4 Hatch Distance for the first 3 eggs Incubated and hatched during the New Year event by using the Mobile Egg-hatching Widget of Pokemon GO. Players can select their widget by using the appropriate manner of opening the widget view on their mobile phones (normally just have to press on their screen for a while and select the Widgets tab afterwards).

Eggs:

7 KM eggs will be bringing a variety of baby Pokemon for the 2024 Event. These eggs will contain Pichu wearing a party hat, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, Azurill and Wynaut. All of these Pokemon will also have their shiny forms available so some players might get a pleasant surprise when they hatch their eggs.

Field Research:

With the new event comes some event-themed Field Research that will reward players with Darumaka and Bronzor encounters. There will also be other rewards like stardust.

For those that feel like this wouldn’t cut it, there will also be a purchasable ticket for a Timed Research Task that will award players with encounters starring the featured Costume Pokemon Jigglypuff wearing a ribbon, Hoothoot wearing the New Year outfit and Wurmple wearing a party hat.

Avatar Items:

For the New Year look, how could there not be some new looks for players in Pokemon GO? There will be a new variety of accessories to check out in the ingame Avatar looks tab: the Darumaka Hat.

Event Boxes:

There will be new boxes in the ingame Shop celebrating the start of the new year so check that out to see if there’s a bundle perfect for you. There will inclusively be a box for 99 coins that will give players a Super incubator and a Premium Battle Pass.

As shown, there is plenty of stuff coming on New Year’s Eve for players to get straight into the game as usual in Pokemon GO. It is a huge achievement that the mobile application is still highly popular, with many active players. By the looks of it, the game will be pushing new events smoothly ahead just like this one and there will be plenty of new stuff to enjoy.
