Hisuian Samurott Debuting Pokemon GO’s New Season

0

The year is almost done and there has been plenty of new content this whole year for players in Pokemon GO. The new season is almost here, and news has been officially shared that the next season, Timeless Travels, will begin in just a few days. To start things off strong, Hisuian Samurott will be leading the way to the next circuit as well as the next season of the game which brings many new Pokemon, new rewards, new events and much more to the immensely popular Pokemon mobile title.

The newest season theme brings Pokemon Legends: Arceus to the table with its exclusive Hisuian Pokemon and more. The special Hisuian Evolutions of the three starters Cyndaquil, Rowlet and Oshawott are also here, with Hisuian Samurott making its way first. Hisuian Samurott’s debuting Raid Day will be this Sunday, December 3rd 2023 from 2 PM to 5 PM local time.

Hisuian Samurott – Dark Samurai Pokemon:

For those that wouldn’t know, Hisuian Samurott is a regional version exclusive to Hisui, the ancient region of Sinnoh in Pokemon Legends Arceus. In older times when Pokemon were masters of lands instead of people, Pokemon adapted to thrive and so Hisuian Versions came into being. This version is different from the normal Samurott as it is partly a Dark type along with water instead of the usual Water Type of the normal Unovan Samurott. Hisuian Samurott also comes with a signature move and more in Legends Arceus so maybe the Hisuian Pokemon will have it in Pokemon GO as well.

Raid Day:

Hisuian Samurott will arrive in 3 Star Raids on December 3rd between 2 PM and 5 PM local time. Its shiny version will also be available and will have a boost too so players can surprisingly find its shiny version after joining and clearing its raids.

Raid Day Bonuses:

There will be 4 bonuses active during raid timings:

  1. Players will get 5 additional free Raid Passes from spinning discs of Pokestops or Gyms. This means players will get 6 total normal raid passes to participate in at least 6 raids.
  2. The Remote Raid Pass limit will be buffed to 20 from Saturday 4 PM to Sunday 7 PM allowing players to join raids remotely if raids are too far away from their location.
  3. Hisuian Samurott’s shiny chance will be increased during the three hours of the event.
  4. Its frequency will also be increased so there will be plenty of raids spawning for everyone.

Event Ticket:

There will also be a purchasable Event Ticket for Raid Day that gives extra bonuses to players who buy it for $5 USD. These bonuses will be active on Sunday from 2 PM to 10 PM which are the following:

  1. Players will get 8 more raid passes on top of the 1 free raid pass and 5 additional raid passes of the normal raid day bonus. This means players can get 14 total raid passes if they purchase the event ticket ingame.
  2. Players will get an increased chance of getting XL Candy.
  3. There will be a 50% boost to XP from raids as well.
  4. Stardust will have a 2x boost from raids.

The event ticket does require money, but the bouses are relatively worthwhile as the 8 additional raid passes are very helpful especially since players wouldn’t need to buy Premium Raid Passes. As raids will be the focus, the extra XP and Stardust will also be helpful, and the XL candy drop boost will allow players to grow their Pokemon if they’re high level. It’s up to players however as the normal bonuses are enough for most.

The ticket will be available ingame till December 3rd at 5 PM. Players can also gift this to friends who are added to Pokemon GO and are Great Friends or more.

Overall, this is a good start to the holiday season and the next chapter of the game. The Timeless Travels looks like it has prospects, with news showing there’s plenty of new content and new events coming to the game ahead. Hisuian Typhlosion and Hisuian Decidueye were also shown and soon all Hisuian Pokemon would be looking to arrive in Pokemon GO. The Legends Arceus game was met with good reception, aside from its lacklustre graphics, but the gameplay and the new formula were acclaimed by fans and critics alike, as well as the new Hisuian Pokemon, the story and the theme of the game. Having Legends Arceus content added to Pokemon GO is sure to entice players to play the game.

The next big event of the next season is also next month where community day Pokemon of the last two years are all coming back together on December 16th and 17th.
