Reports have revealed that Respawn Entertainment is working on a first-person Star Wars Mandalorian game in the early stages of development.

Respawn Entertainment has previously produced some Star Wars games in their lineup, and they are also the creators of the famous game Apex Legends.

Insider Games reported that players will assume the role of a Mandalorian bounty hunter equipped with various weapons and gadgets, including a wrist rocket, grapple hook, and a visor to locate and tag enemies’ bounties, explore and live the Rogue Bounty Hunting Star Wars life and much more.

It is also being reported that the game may not be an open-world game and may consist of multiple levels, potentially representing various planets that players can select to complete their tasks. There has been no specific update on when the game will be released, but it is said that the date could be sometime in late 2025 or early 2026.

This news comes after EA’s earlier announcement that it is partnering with LucasFilm Games, famed for the cult classic The Secret Of Monkey Island series, to support and endorse new Star Wars game projects by Respawn. This new game falls in line with the previous ones.

Speaking about Respawn Entertainment, Vice President of Lucasfilm, Douglas Reilly, said, “We are excited to continue working with the superbly talented developers at Respawn.” He continued his praises for Respawn, stating, “They have demonstrated excellence in telling epic Star Wars stories along with best-in-class gameplay across different genres, and we are looking forward to bringing more amazing experiences to the galaxy far, far away.”

Returning the favor, the Game Director at Respawn Entertainment, Peter Hirschmann shared the following words;

“Working with Lucasfilm Games on a new FPS in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true for me. This is a story I have always wanted to tell.“

Fans of Star Wars should be excited that companies who claim to be fans of the franchise are working on the game. It is hoped that they will not disappoint.
