Warzone Season 3 is once again facing a strange bug that is allowing players to unlock the new AMP63 pistol. And giving them the privilege to take it with them to Black Ops Cold War multiplayer mode as well before its official launch date.
Warzone and Black Ops Cold War were both going to get two new weapons in the midseason update. However, only the Ballistic Knife went live with the launch of the Season 3 Reloaded update. The classic side arm, AMP63 did not become available and was destined for another in-season update. Although the side arm had no specific launch date, players are already acquiring the AMP63 in both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.
Moreover, there has been no official announcement from the devs about making the weapon available across both titles. So we can only assume that a bug is causing all this havoc. Warzone players just have to kill five enemies with a pistol in 20 different matches to unlock this new weapon for good. Without any official confirmation or notice from the devs. Now, this pre-release access has given players the liberty to use the latest AMP63 in Cold War as well. Irrespective of whether the devs wish it or not.
The fast-firing side arm draws its inspiration from a Classic SMG known as PM63 in Cold War. Although it was originally an SMG, it has now been nerfed as a pistol. It is among one of the most exciting new additions in the Cold War and Warzone. Generally, whenever something new is about to go live in a title, Activision gives the players a heads up in form of an official notice. However, the players are already getting their hands on the AMP63 before the devs could make it official. As players started spotting the pistol in multiplayer mode on May 31. Furthermore, some were unlucky enough to get slain by the weapon on May 28 as well.
Although getting your hands on this dual wielding pistol in Warzone is a bit of a hassle, it does give an edge over your competition. As not only is the power of this side arm unmatchable, your enemies will never know what hit them. And there’s certainly no pistol in the arsenal of both titles that can outmatch the AMP63 for now. With that said, we have seen similar instances of weapons becoming available before their official release date. So this is not the first time, however, we can’t say for sure whether Activision will make it official now or remove the gun until its actual launch time.
