CyberPunk 2077 is one of the most awaited games of all time. It is a role-playing game set in an anarchic cyberpunk future. A future in which you play a character named ‘V’. With V you get to choose your story and how it plays out. As we follow V through the story meeting characters and choosing the options of how we interact with them. While this game is one of the most awaited games of all time, it has received heavy criticism and divided fans as well. Some fans loving the gameplay and story while others believing that it fell short of expectations.
The story itself has many different endings, depending on your choices throughout the game. As the story goes on, the choices you make will lead you to different endings. CyberPunk 2077 has a multitude of endings and one of them is the ‘secret ending’. Well, this won’t be a surprise to most as nowadays every story game has a ‘secret ending’. The problem of Cyberpunk’s secret ending is that it is incredibly difficult to access.
How To Get To The CyberPunk 2077 Secret Ending
The secret ending is extremely hard to attain. As you will have to go through the story without any help, as well as follow a very specific path which you should know beforehand. While this article will not be telling you what the secret ending is, so as not to spoil the ending. It will however show you how to get there. Many visual guides have also been setup on Youtube as well. As a guide by ‘The Triple S League‘ is one such example.
The secret ending will depend on how your relationship with Johnny Silverhand is. As there are specific dialogues and events that take place where you have to make the right choice to obtain the secret ending.
The first thing you have to do is finish the Tapeworm quest. This is a special side job that pops up in four specific points throughout the game. The Tapeworm quest isn’t found in the job list but will be triggered once you finish four specific quests. Which are 1. Automatic Love, 2. Transmission, 3. Life During Wartime, and 4. Search and Destroy. Completing each quest will trigger a new phase of the Tapeworm quest.
The second is that you will have to finish the quest Chippin’ In. While you finish the quest there are specific dialogues that you must choose as well. During the quest when sitting with Johnny where is body is buried, you will have to choose specific dialogues. The specific dialogues are as follows:
- “The Guy who Saved My Life.” When asked what should be written on Johnny’s Grave. The rest of the dialogues come after this one.
- “Nah, fucked that up too.”
- “What do you want from me?” Which is the dialogue that comes after the above one.
- “OK. But as second chances go, this is your last.”
- “You were a real dick in the beginning.”
- “When you said you let down your friends…”
- “Smasher biz really got to her.”
- “Yeah, I’ll call Rogue.”
You will have to take the Nocture OP55N1 job. In this you will have to progress to the point where you have to choose someone to turn to for help. At this point do not choose any of the options and you will be given the choice to choose Johnny himself. Now heads up when you choose this, it will unlock a secret mission called “Don’t fear the reaper”. This is incredibly difficult and if you die you will get the same ending as the one you get when you pick “Suicide ending. Now if you are able to complete this mission then you will be able to obtain the secret ending.
Fair warning the secret mission is incredibly difficult and should not be taken lightly. Other than that, if you as a player are invested in this secret ending then good luck and I hope you make it through.
