The Witcher: Monster Slayer has been teased for some time. The game was said to be a location-based mobile AR (Augmented Reality) game. In this game, you will have to capture monsters like ghouls or succubi. The game that most people are comparing this game to is the well-known location-based mobile AR game Pokemon GO. Well, news has come out that the Witcher’s opened its registration for early access. So, android users, there is good news for you as you can get early access to the game.
CD Project Red had announced the game during their Financial results of 2020. The game has already had a soft release in some countries and it looks like they’re finally ready to release. With the registration being opened for the game it seems like they will be reaching their goal of releasing the game in the summer of 2021. The game has been developed by Spokko an independent department of the CD Project. It will be a free-to-play game that will be available to everyone worldwide. Like Pokemon GO the game will let you explore monsters as well as fight them and study them. Of course, this game will not be following the witcher story. Geralt’s story will not be followed and will take place way before the Witcher story began.
The Witcher’s Newest Mobile Games Future?
As you can see in the trailer above the game will let you fight monsters like Trolls and Wights. But not only this, but you will also have the chance to travel and finish quests as well. All the while studying the monsters and leveling up throughout the game. Now as the game is close to its release there’s not much telling how fans will react. As People have already pointed out that the game seems to be just another clone of the original mobile AR Pokemon GO. As with CD Project’s previous release (CyberPunk 2077), it might just end up dividing fans again.
