Modern Warfare Halloween Event – Themed Changes, New Modes, and More

The Hunting of Verdansk event is now live in both Warzone and Modern Warfare. For those who don’t know, this event is a part of Halloween that will be celebrated in the coming days. Every year, we see various game developers celebrate Halloween in their own styles. Judging from what Infinity Ward is doing, they are ahead of everyone.

Modern Warfare Halloween Event

Previously, we talked about what Warzone is getting as a part of the Halloween event. Battle royale players are currently enjoying the night version of Verdansk where they have to rely on thermal optics for better visibility. Furthermore, there is a new limited-time mode called Zombie Royale where players become a zombie after getting killed. These zombies have some special abilities such as increased speed, better movement, and more. Other than this, there are 16 chests scattered throughout the map and all of them contain something special.

Modern Warfare

Now, it’s time to talk about what Modern Warfare is getting. While Warzone has received some major changes and content, Modern Warfare players have gotten their fair share of stuff. So without any further due, here’s what has been introduced to Modern Warfare as a part of the Halloween event.

Different Changes

To begin with, there are multiple themed changes that revolve around players. The first one is that any player who is on a kill streak of three or more will have his head turned into a flaming jack-o-lantern pumpkin. This means that if you’re on a killing spree, your enemies will know just by looking at your face. I mean, who wouldn’t notice a giant flaming head? This will allow you and other players to know who must be stopped at once. Other than this, there aren’t any other major changes. The flags in Dominiation have been replaced by scarecrows while white skulls now appear instead of dig tags in Kill Confirmed.

New Game Modes

Infinity Ward has introduced two new game modes as a part of the Halloween event. The first mode is called Onslaught and it basically places a Juggernaut suit somewhere on the map. Both teams must fight for it, and once someone takes control of it, they have to take it to a specific point while countering the other team.

The second mode is called Snipers Only and as its name suggests, it allows players to use snipers only. It is similar to Team Deathmatch mode but features five pre-built sniper loadouts. The rules are pretty simple as the team with the most kills will win the match.

New Bundles

Infinity Ward has decided to partner up with the Saw and Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the Hunting of Verdansk event. Thanks to this, we have different cosmetic items based on these two franchises in both Modern Warfare and Warzone. To begin with, the popular Billy the Puppet has been introduced as an Operator outfit. In addition to this, there is a new lethal equipment called the Phlebotomozier. This is actually a throwing knife. The Saw bundle further includes blueprints for an assault rifle and shotgun, a Cargo Truck skin, and some other times.

Modern Warfare

Other than this, Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre has also been introduced as an operator outfit. In addition to this, there is a new LMG blueprint called Family Heirloom. This LMG can be carried around like a chainsaw, something which further adds up to the excitement. This bundle further includes an SMG blueprint, a new melee weapon, and a lot more.

New Operator

Finally, we have a new Operator called Dr. Karlov. For those who don’t know, he is a mad scientist who is obsessed with electricity and energy-powered weapons. He comes as a part of a bundle that includes a new outfit skin for Bale, two weapon blueprints, and more.

This was all regarding what Modern Warfare players are getting as a part of the Hunting of Verdansk event. At the moment, Infinity Ward hasn’t talked about whether they will be introducing something other than this during the event. We have already seen a plethora of new content as a part of this event, so it’s highly unlikely they will do something like this. But if they do, then we’ll make sure to let you know.
