Apex Legends players will be glad to know that they will finally get to see crossplay soon. That’s right, it was officially confirmed that the much-requested feature is going to go live through an upcoming in-game event.
Crossplay has remained the most requested feature since the early days of Apex Legends. Games like Fortnite already have it, and we all know how much it has contributed to their success. Getting the chance to play with your friends who are on a different platform is simply amazing. As for Apex, the developers previously claimed that they are planning to launch it in Fall 2020. No exact release date was provided at that time and some leaked release dates also turned out to be a hoax.
Apex Legends Crossplay Officially Confirmed
Now, it has been confirmed that crossplay will become available when the Aftermarket Collection event goes live. Just like the previous collection events, this one is going to bring a new Limited Time Mode. In addition to this, there will be a bunch of creative new skins up for the grabs.
One thing to keep in mind is that this version of crossplay is just going to be a beta. This is because Respawn first wants to test out whether it is suitable for the game or not. In addition to this, cross-progression won’t be available for the time period. Still, you’ll be able to play with players from all platforms. At the moment, the confirmed platforms include PS4, Xbox One, and Origin. Once the Steam version goes live, it will get added to the list as well. After the feature goes live, it will be enabled by default. However, you will be able to change it through the settings.
Flashpoint Limited Time Mode
Flashpoint is going to be the next LTM for Apex Legends that will become available through the Aftermarket Collection Event. The event will take place in Kings Canyon that will feature areas called Flashpoints. These points will be dotted on the map and they will regenerate the health and shields of anyone inside them. The main twist is that there won’t be any healing items available in this mode. This means that you will have to rely only on these Flashpoints for survival.
It has been confirmed that there will be a total of 24 cosmetic items featured in the Aftermarket Collection event. These items will be available for a limited time only. So we’ll suggest you grab them as soon as you can. In addition to this, the event is also going to introduce the Heirloom for Caustic, which happens to be a hammer.
Apex Legends Aftermarket Collection event will go live on October 6.
