After getting revealed as Project A back in October 2019, Valorant was released on June 2, 2020. The game is the first FPS title from Riot Games, who are well known for League of Legends. The game focuses on a tactical and first-person shooter experience, something that is seen in many other games. Before its final release, Riot also held a closed-beta for it which attracted the attention of many players from around the world. Some professional Esports players even decided to quit other games to focus on this one.

Beginner’s Guide for Valorant

The thing about Valorant is that it has a lot of similarities to CS:GO. This is why a lot of Counter-Strike players didn’t find it difficult to make a switch. Although there are some differences between the two, you’ll notice they are kind of the same. If you’re someone who’s just getting started with playing Valorant, then we’ll share some things that can help you out.

Agents in Valorant

The biggest difference between Valorant and CS:GO are Agents. For those who don’t know, these Agents are the playable characters of Valorant. At the moment, there exist more than ten Agents for players to choose from. The thing about these Agents is that all of them come equipped with a set of unique abilities, something that is also seen in Apex Legends. These abilities can be used to either take enemies down, escape certain situations, or to defend a certain point.

Valorant

In teh game, Agents need to be unlocked. Luckily, we previously wrote about how you can unlock Agents faster in Valorant. Every Agent works differently, and you’ll have to see which one suits you the most. They are divided into four categories, with Duelists perfect for frontline situations, Initiators working as support characters, Controllers that can execute a plan, and Sentinels who like to showcase their skills at the end. We will suggest you try out different Agents so that you can know which one is the right for you. In addition to this, mastering multiple Agents will also allow you to get more creative during matches.

Weapons

Although Valorant allows players to use abilities against their enemies, the primary way of taking them down is through Weapons. At the moment, there are around 17 weapons in Riot’s FPS and all of them are simply amazing. From Assault Rifles to Snipers, you can get them all. Of course, the most expensive ones are a threat to everyone, but the mid-range weapons can also help you with creating havoc. We also mentioned the top four weapons you should use in Valorant, so make sure to check that out as well.

Valorant

Valorant features a buy system similar to CS:GO. You and your teammates will have some funds at the beginning of every match. You can use these funds to purchase items and weapons. To avoid making a poor choice with weapons, we’ll suggest you visit the Shooting Range first. There, you can try out every weapon and see which one you should be buying at the start of every match. You might think you’re good with an Assault Rifle, but you might perform poorly with it. Similarly, you might think you can’t use a Sniper properly but then discover you’re pretty good with it. This is why it’s important to test every weapon type. Otherwise, you’ll just waste your credits. You can also buy different types of Shields using the credits. The shooting range will also help you with improving your aim.

Communication

This is perhaps the most important thing. Communication has always remained the key to success in multiplayer games, and it holds the same importance in Valorant. If you and your teammates don’t have any type of communication, then you’ll get eliminated pretty quickly. There are times when you have to warn each other about a certain player or tell them which point to hold. Therefore, make sure that you and your teammates are communicating with each other throughout the match.

Practice and Practice

Remember that you won’t become a pro player overnight. You will have to spend days just to get familiar with the basics of Valorant. Practice is something important in such things and without it, you won’t go far. We previously wrote a guide about how you can become a pro player in Valorant, so we’ll suggest you give it a read to clear your mind.

This was our beginner’s guide for Valorant. We hope that it is going to help you out.
