Octane is the first character who got added to Apex Legends. He arrived with season one and instantly became a fan-favorite character. The thing which everyone loves about him is that he is always energetic and in a good mood. This makes it fun to play with him as you feel as if you’re the one taking adrenaline.

Apex Legends Octane Abilities And Tips

Unlike some other Legends present in the game, Octane’s abilities focus more on speed and allowing him to reach destinations quickly. If you’re someone who is a fan of extremely fast-paced combat that too with a mix of aggression, then Octane is definitely the Legend for you. So without any further due, let’s talk about the abilities offered by Octane along with how and when you should use them.

Passive Ability

First, we have the Passive ability. Octane’s Passive is called the Swift Mend, and it is regarded as one of the most useful abilities in all of Apex. If you’re someone who plays this battle royale, then you know how important it is to always keep the health bar full. However, there are times when you are unable to find some Syringes or the time to heal up. However, when playing with Octane, you don’t have to worry about either of this as he can heal himself.

Apex Legends

The Swift Mend ability basically gives Octane one health point after every two seconds automatically. Passive abilities are those which don’t require any button to get triggered, so your health will be regenerating no matter what you’re doing. The best part is that you don’t have to reach a specific point at the health bar for this ability to get triggered as it will even fill the tiniest of area. So when you eliminate some enemies, you can loot them with comfort as you’re health will be going up on its own.

Tactical Ability

Next up, we have the Tactical Ability called Stim. This is the very ability that has made Octane famous as it allows him to run 30% faster for around 6 seconds. This is perfect for those times when your team is getting pushed by another squad and you’re far away. All you will have to do is inject yourself with the Stim while running and you’ll reach your squad in no time. The best part is that the ability refreshes only after 2 seconds, meaning that you can use it again and again without waiting a lot.

Apex Legends

The only downside about Stim is that it takes away around 10 health with every use. This means that it will be best to avoid using Stim if you’re low on health. Not because you’ll get killed by using it as Stim will never cause death, but because your enemy will be able to take you down with only one shot. This is why it is always wise to use Stim only when your health is full. The best time to use it is at the start of the match as it can help you gather loot quickly.

Ultimate Ability

Finally, we have the Launch Pad. This is Octane’s Ultimate Ability which allows him to deploy a launch pad that can be used by both his teammates and enemies. This pad can basically help you launch yourself in your desired direction. The best part is that the launch pad never goes away, until and unless you destroy it yourself.

Apex Legends

The launchpad is perfect for times when you need to reach the top of a building quickly. In addition to this, you can place it in the right location during a fight so that you can use it to escape if you’re low on health. If you use the launch pad while you’re running on Stim, then you will go even further. Another amazing use for it is that you can place it in front of your downed teammate and he can use it to escape a gunfight.

Best Teammates

Wraith and Pathfinder are considered as the best teammates for Octane. Those who play with Octane are always on the move and cannot afford to get slowed down at any cost. As for Wraith and Pathfinder, both Legends have abilities that allow them to move faster, something which is a plus point for Octane. Basically, with those two on your side, you can be as aggressive as possible without worrying about anything.
