This peculiar mechanic was first introduced in Pokemon X and Y. It also came as a large hit with a powerful mechanic that comes handy in battles. This successfully allows final evolution forms of selected Pokemon to evolve again into their mega-forms, showing an increase in power and in looks. Charizard was the prime example with two varieties of mega evolutions to choose from. This mechanic was also adapted into the highly successful remake titles; Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, giving way to even more mega evolution forms of more final evolution Pokemon.
That is where the mechanic stopped and was not adopted to newer titles such as in Pokemon Sun and Moon. Regardless, it remains a mechanic that the fans love, which is why many are anticipating mega evolution to finally arrive in Poke’Mon Go.
Although this is entirely speculative, some expectant mechanics would show the introduction of mega-stones, items that allowed Pokemon to evolve into their mega forms. This would look to arrive on the mobile game in the same manner, if not any other. It could also show some change, for example, the necessary option of mega evolution being that the Poke’Mon needs to be your best friend etc. Whatever comes, mega-evolution is confirmed to arrive sooner or later, and we cannot wait.
Moreover, the whole premiere of Pokemon Presents gave info to the mass on the current updates Niantic gave that allows everyone to enjoy the game remotely from their homes. If you’re a person that has not played it in a while or not at all, you might want to give it a try. it comes as a free download with much variety of gameplay.
