Riot Game’s latest FPS title Valorant is currently being enjoyed by a lot of players in the world. Although the game is still in its closed-beta stage, a handful of players have still gotten the chance to experience it. Considering it has been out for less than two weeks, there are still plenty of things you need to learn and understand. The most important thing perhaps is understanding what sounds your enemy team can hear.
Valorant Agents’ Sounds
Sounds are something important in almost every FPS game, especially in Valorant. This is because the sound of a single footstep can either give away the position of your player or the enemy. This is why you always must be really careful about creating a lot of noise. However, what some players don’t know is that some Agents’ abilities can also give away your position. Different abilities create a different type of sound, and some of them can be even heard from far away.
How Different Sounds Work
Since you’ve just started playing the game, you still have a lot to learn about the kind of noise the abilities make. The thing about Agents is that they always make a lot of noise while using their Ultimate ability, but there are some of them who make very little noise. For instance, Brimstone is a character who everyone thinks is noisy. However, this is not the case. Although his Orbital Strike can be heard by almost everyone on the map, his Sky Emote ability is really quiet. Your enemy might be just around the corner but won’t know about it until it appears on the map.
On the other hand, Jett is the complete opposite of Brimstone as her entire set of abilities can give away her position. The thing about Jett is that she is always preferred by almost every player who likes to play aggressively. However, what they don’t know is that whenever they use her abilities, they simply give away their location. Both of her movement abilities, Updraft and Tailwind create enough noise for all nearby enemies to hear them. Her passive ability that allows her to float even makes the same amount of noise.
All of this basically means that learning about different sounds in Valorant is something that can help you master the game easily. When the game gets released, we can expect Riot Games to add more agents to it. This means that you will have to spend more time learning sounds even after the closed-beta ends.
