Shroud: Valorant Pro Or April Fool’s?

Michael Grzesiek, also known as Shroud is easily one of the best shooting video game players of all time. He played for a lot of teams in the beginning such as compLexity, Manajuma and Exertus but his career took off when he joined Cloud 9 in 2014.

Shroud won a lot of tournaments after he signed with Cloud 9, some would say he was the backbone of the team. But then in August 2017 Shroud announced that he is stepping down from the main roster along with n0thing and that they will be playing as substitutes. This lasted another year until Shroud finally left Cloud 9 along with professional CS:GO and jumped into full time streaming.

Shroud was streaming on Twitch full-time until October 2019 when he switched to Mixer following another well-known streamer, Ninja. He has been streaming PUBG, Call Of Duty and other shooters since his streaming career started and has become one of the biggest streamers of the generation.

Shroud’s announcement on Twitter

We all know that it’s the month of the fool. People are pranking their friends, family and fans left and right. Big brands, talking about products we know they won’t be releasing in this era. And then we have Shroud making a post exactly on the 1st of April, announcing his plan to go pro in Valorant.

It has been years since the streamer picked up a game and took a liking to it enough to try his hand at the professional scene surrounding it. Now we know that Valorant has not released yet but, some people have received BETA access including, Shroud.

The streamer says, “I’ve been blessed to be able to play basically whatever I wanted over the last few years, but this one hit different. So… Broys I’m going pro in Valorant.”

Now we’re not sure if this is an April Fool’s or Shroud is finally jumping back into competitive gaming but for now, his tweet is all the information we have on the topic. Whether it’s an April Fool’s or he’s serious, we wish him the best of luck and cannot wait to see where this road takes him.
