Modern Warfare season 3 is now live on the official servers. Players have been anticipating its release for the past few weeks, and its finally here. The developers have also released the patch notes for it to let players know exactly what they’re getting. The reason behind why everyone is excited about it more than the previous two seasons is that this is the first one after Warzone’s release.
Modern Warfare Content
To begin with, Modern Warfare players are getting three new multiplayer player maps. These are Talisk Backlot, Hovem Sawmill, and Aniyah Incursion. Call of Duty 4 players will be familiar with Talisk Backlot as the map is a remake from the original Modern Warfare game. In addition to this, it is going to be the fifth map that has been taken from it, following Rust, Crash, Vacant, and Shipment.
As for Hovec Sawmill, it is a brand new map. In the past few weeks, some rumors surfaced claiming that it will be a remake of the Village map from MW2. However, this is not the case as its a new location. The final map is Aniyah Incursion, which is actually just a smaller area of the already existing Aniyah Palace map. Infinity Ward has introduced it so that it can become a 6v6 map. The developers have also confirmed that two other maps will be released during the third season.
Season 3 is also bringing two new weapons to Modern Warfare. The first one is the SKS marksman rifle. According to its description, this weapon focused more on utility than accuracy. The SKS also offers a better fire rate than most of the other weapons in its class. The second weapon, on the other hand, is the Renetti pistol. It is a semi-auto 9mm pistol that can offer a three-round burst with an attachment.
As for Warzone players, they are finally getting the squads mode. This is something players have requested since the battle royale was released, and Infinity Ward has finally introduced it. This means that players will finally get to jump into a match with a full 4-player squad. The developers have also increased the price of Loadout Drops to $10,000.
Aside from this, players can also expect to see some new skins and wraps for vehicles. These skins will become available in the in-game store and through the newly added Battle Pass. Infinity Ward has also introduced various fixes for different bugs through the season 3 update.
