Some people in the esports community have a habit of hosting their own tournaments. Some of these tournaments are either for fun, while others even have a prize pool. One of the most popular one is the Warzone Wednesday, hosted by YouTube star Daniel “KEEMSTAR” Keem. He is known for hosting some amazing online tournaments and has gained a lot of popularity through them. And now, the latter has decided to make some changes to one of his tournaments.

KEEMSTAR Warzone Wednesday

When Infinity Ward released their battle royale title, Warzone, KEEMSTAR was quick to host an online tournament for it. He ended up creating Warzone Wednesday, a weekly tournament that features a prize pool of $20,000. The best thing about it is that it features some of the biggest stars from the esports community, which is why viewers always enjoy it.

KEEMSTAR created the tournament with a simple format. All teams have to do is get as many kills as they can in a certain number of matches. The team with the highest number of kills at the end takes home the prize money. However, this format was meant to be for the trios mode. But now that the developers have introduced the quads mode too, KEEMSTAR has made some changes to it.

New Changes To The Format

The launch of Modern Warfare season 3 on April 7 introduced the quads mode to Warzone. This means that players can now jump into a match with a full 4-player squad. Because of this very reason, KEEMSTAR has now decided to change the format of Warzone Wednesday to a 2v2 “Kill-race.” If you’ve been following the YouTube star since 2018, then you will be aware of the fact that the same format was followed in his Friday Fortnite series.

While talking about the format change, KEEMSTAR claimed that the tournament is going to become more entertaining now. He was quick to mention that as Call of Duty has allowed four-man squads in Warzone, they now have the opportunity to run the tournament in the same way as Friday Fortnite. The new format will now put teams of two against each other. The rest of the rules will stay the same, i.e getting the highest number of kills. But the thing is, two duos will still stay as a team. They will just have to go to different locations to get the highest number of combined kills.

In any case, KEEMSTAR claims that it is going to be super exciting. And we all know that he has never let his viewers down.
