Pokemon GO brings changes following Corona Virus

Pokemon Go has inducted some passive changes to Pokemon Go for players. Players hereby get playable bonuses from their homes rather than outside. Various changes include almost free incenses, more spawns and more that pacifies outside play to an extent.

Pokemon Go Community day cancelled

To start, the month’s community day featuring the Psychic Type Pokemon cancels this time. This is the first time. The bonuses of that day plus more give players the option to stay at home and still enjoy gameplay. This is due to the Corona Virus concerns as the whole mobile app is based on social gameplay.

This comes as a safe and positive move from Niantic that shows the company does not want to risk the health of its players.

This is the update that follows the bonuses for home play over outside:

Updates to events: Abra Community Day

“Trainers,

The following events have been canceled, postponed, or changed.

  • Abra Community Day: This event has been postponed.

We will also be making the following changes to Pokémon GO which are effective starting now until further notice.

  • A one-time purchase bundle of 30 Incense for 1 PokéCoin. Incense will also last for one hour.
  • 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during this time period
  • PokéStops will now drop Gifts more frequently
  • Pokémon habitats will increase and more Pokémon will be appearing in the wild

Be sure to follow us on social media, opt in to receive push notifications, and subscribe to our emails to stay updated. —The Pokémon GO team.”

Incense adheres home play in the sense that using it enables more spawns towards players that use it. This way players can stay at home and still be able to catch more Pokemon. Hatch distance has also been reduced until further notice. Overall there will be more spawns and there will be the likelihood of players getting various types all at one place. Thus there will be less need to go outside.

Further updates will suffice to what holds for Pokemon Go and its player base.
