The news of the Electronic Entertainment Expo has come with much disappointment to fans. The E3 2020 organizers have officially cancelled the event to the Corona Virus health concerns.
The E3 website delivers disappointing news with their official statement on the cancellation. This is what the statement reads:
E3 Cancellation Statement:
“After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry – our fans, our employees, our exhibitors, and our longtime E3 partners – we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles.
Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our fans and supporters. But we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today.
Our team will be reaching out directly to exhibitors and attendees with information about providing full refunds.
We are also exploring options with our members to coordinate an online experience to showcase industry announcements and news in June 2020. E3Expo.com will share the updates.
We thank everyone who shared their views on reimagining E3 this year. We look forward to bringing you E3 2021 as a reimagined event that brings fans, media, and the industry together in a showcase that celebrates the global video game industry.”
E3 has always been the prime of all forthcoming news related to video-games. In addition, it has included displays of all the latest software titles along with showcasing new consoles and everything gaming related. So it is unfortunate news for many fans that it shall not happen this year.
News regarding E3’s cancellation arouses questions by fans. People are thinking about what will be the medium of the industries to showcase their information now. For example, Nintendo has always been using their pre-recorded news videos, the Nintendo Directs, to give information. Sony had adopted the same mode as well with it’s State Of Play.
However, other industries showcased news and the latest hardware through events like E3. To conclude, this will put them to think about how they shall show fans what they have in store for the future.
For further information, registered industries included Nintendo, Microsoft, Capcom, Ubisoft, Sega, and many more leading names. People shall now observe what these industries have in store for them, and what medium they will use to showcase their products. E3 are considering online options, so there can be a chance that it still resounds everything.
