The Dota 2 ESL One Frankfurt’s LAN event is only two months away from kicking off. Squads are already locked and loaded to take on the best at the tournament. With a rather short time remaining, the tournament decided to begin sending invites; the Swedish based Team Alliance become the first squad to receive the invite.
It makes sense that Team Alliance gets an invite to one of the larger Dota 2 tournaments this year. Their squad has performed pretty well recently and has been one of the more popular line ups at leagues. They were able to grab first place at the Starladder i-League tournament, which is decent accomplishment, in addition to other tournaments that they have taken part in. Overall, Team Alliance is one of those teams that fans would want to cheer on at a tournament because of their diligence. As such, Alliance became the first squad to receive a direct invite at the ESL One Frankfurt LAN Dota 2 event.
The squad let their enthusiasm be known through their Twitter account.
“For the third time, Alliance is going to #ESLOne Frankfurt! See you in Germany 18-19 June! #LongLiveAlliance”
The winners of the European and SEA qualifiers will decide who fills 5 of the 8 spots of the Frankfurt event. The remaining three are meant to invite only, of which Alliance had the honor of receiving the first.
The tournament will begin on 18th June and will have teams fight for $250,000 in prize money and trophy for one of the biggest non-Valve Dota 2 events, globally.
