The WePlay Dota League is one of the more prestigious Dota 2 leagues that were brought into the eSports scene. It offers a series of great games between the top as well as rising players. Call it a diverse platform that tests every player’s mettle. On top of that, it has a more than decent prize pool to fight for.
Season 3 of the WePlay Dota 2 League is only about 4 weeks away and there are already a handful of teams lined up. The squads will meet on the 29th of April at Kiev and go up against one another for the championship title and a $200,000 prize pool.
The teams that have been invited and the ones that have qualified for the tournament, have been divided into two groups. The divide is obvious. Four of the current regional champions from the SEA, the US, Western Europe, and Eastern Europe, will be placed in a single group. The other group of 4 comprises of direct invite teams that were deemed worthy of being able to compete at such a level. For now, 3 of the invites have been sent out, the last one remains.
The group of regional champions includes Elite Wolves, Fnatic, Team Liquid, and Vega Squadron. The invited teams group includes Evil Geniuses, Natus Vincere, MVP Phoenix, and one more that is yet to be announced.
It is going to be quite riveting to watch rising teams such as MVP Phoenix go up against regional champions. In fact, this is pretty much what eSports is all about, the competition and drama.
