The Imperium eSports Bar and Video Game Lounge Bids Goodbye

It looks like the popular eSports bar and video game lounge, The Imperium has closed its doors permanently.

According to recent reports, the Imperium bar, which is, or rather was, one of the most popular gaming bars in Metro Walk, Ortigas has closed shop and is now out of business. This might be a major blow to those of you who were regular visitors but we hate to say that this news is pretty much confirmed.

Imperium’s way of pulling together of gaming and booze was praised amongst community members and has been the go-to sport for many gamers and eSports enthusiasts ever since its initial opening back in 2013. It offered a very unique way to players to game and grab a drink in an awesome and comfortable environment and it was possibly one of the best hang out places for gamers out there. People used to call Imperium a “paradise” for gamers where high end rigs were installed on the walls along with a bar serving you the best booze in town.

Other than the environment, the Imperium also hosted the Fighting Game International Major last year in September. The event was an official part of the Capcom Pro Tour of the same year and brought in players from all over the world to demonstrate and compete against some of the best players in the world.

Now that the lounge is closing down, the professional gaming wing of the organization is going to continue, according to Imperium’s Facebook Page. The management also hinted at an evolution or “Phase 2” of the imperium gaming bar as well so there might be a glimmer of hope left for all of the avid fans of the place. If a Phase 2 is actually in the works, it could be that the management is looking for a better place for Imperium and if that actually happens, it is going to be something truly worth your while.

We will keep you updated, until then, let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
